Mashup Score: 37Exploring The Single Cell Immune Landscape Of Renal Allograft Inflammation Using Imaging Mass Cytometry - 1 year(s) ago
Kidney allograft inflammation, mostly attributed to rejection and infection, is an important cause of graft injury and loss. Standard histopathological assessment of allograft inflammation provides limited insights into biological processes and immune landscape. Here, using Imaging Mass Cytometry (IMC) with a panel of 28 validated biomarkers, we explored the single-cell landscape of kidney allograft inflammation in 32 kidney transplant biopsies and 247 high-dimensional histopathology images of various phenotypes of allograft inflammation (antibody-mediated rejection, T cell-mediated rejection, BK nephropathy and chronic pyelonephritis).

Direct-acting antiviral (DAA) treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) has made transplantation of kidneys from HCV-infected donors to uninfected recipients (D+/R−) feasible. To facilitate an update to the 2018 KDIGO guideline for patients with CKD and HCV, we conducted a systematic review of HCV D+/R−kidney transplantation coupled with DAA treatment.

Mashup Score: 3Association of Primary Kidney Disease Type and Donor Relatedness With Live Donor Kidney Transplant Outcomes: An Analysis of ANZDATA - 2 year(s) ago
There is limited information about the association between primary kidney disease and donor relatedness with transplant outcomes. This study addresses this gap by evaluating clinical outcomes after kidney transplantation in recipients of living donor kidneys as a function of primary kidney disease type and donor relatedness in Australia and New Zealand.

elective T cell costimulation blocker that is approved for prevention of rejection in kidney transplantation, and has been associated with favorable cardiovascular, metabolic and renal outcomes in kidney transplant recipients. This review provides an overview of recent updates in the use of belatacept in kidney transplant recipients. Recent findings Belatacept may be a safe alternative to calcineurin inhibitors for select kidney transplant populations. Patients converted to belatacept from a calcineurin inhibitor-based immunosuppression generally experience improvement in renal function, and may be less likely to develop de novo donor specific antibodies or new onset diabetes after transplantation. Although, belatacept based immunosuppression may increase the risk of early acute cellular rejection, it may however be beneficial in stabilization of long-term renal function and improvement in inflammation in patients with chronic active antibody mediated rejection. These benefits need to
