Telestroke assessments are widely used to rapidly assess adults presenting to remote facilities with suspected stroke, though they have not been studied in children. SPOT, the Study of performing the PedNIHSS over Televideo, tested the feasibility of assessing the pediatric National Institutes of Health stroke scale (PedNIHSS) by televideo in children.

Anti-myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibody disease (MOGAD) is a type of acquired demyelinating disease that is distinct from multiple sclerosis (MS) and aquaporin-4 antibody neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (AQP4-NMOSD). Leptomeningeal enhancement (LME) has been reported in children and adults with MOGAD, and in adults with MS and AQP4-NMOSD, but less is known about LME in pediatric-onset MS (POMS) and pediatric AQP4-NMOSD. Here we compare the rates of LME in children with MOGAD, POMS, and AQP4-NMOSD.

Mashup Score: 12Pediatric palliative epilepsy surgery: a report from the Pediatric Epilepsy Research Consortium (PERC) Surgery Database - 11 month(s) ago
Epilepsy is common, occurring in 0.5-1.5% of the pediatric US population, with drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE) occurring in nearly one-third of persons with epilepsy under 18 years of age.1,2,3,50 The International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) defines DRE as “failure of adequate trials of two tolerated, appropriately chosen and used, antiepileptic drug schedules to achieve sustained seizure freedom”.4 After two anti-seizure medications (ASMs) have failed, the likelihood that an additional ASM will lead to seizure freedom is around 4-5%.

Mashup Score: 4Practical considerations for delandistrogene moxeparvovec gene therapy in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy - 1 year(s) ago
Delandistrogene moxeparvovec is a gene transfer therapy approved in the United States, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar for the treatment of ambulatory patients aged 4 through 5 years with a confirmed Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD)-causing mutation in the DMD gene. It was developed to address the underlying cause of DMD through targeted skeletal, respiratory, and cardiac muscle expression of delandistrogene moxeparvovec micro-dystrophin, an engineered, functional dystrophin protein. Drawing on clinical trial experience from Study 101 (NCT03375164), Study 102 (NCT03769116), and ENDEAVOR (Study 103; NCT04626674), we outline practical considerations for delandistrogene moxeparvovec treatment.
