      New Report Recommends Myopia Be Classified as a Disease, Policies for Children to Spend Time Outdoors - 8 month(s) ago

      Commonly called nearsightedness, myopia has greatly increased over the last three decades. The federal government should pursue policy changes to encourage children to spend more time outdoors, which lowers their risk of developing myopia. Also, reclassifying myopia as a disease would encourage treatment and investment in prevention and management.
