Helen Salisbury: What the NHS 10 year plan means for GPs
The latest NHS plan, published on 3 July, sets out the ideas and ambitions for the NHS in England over the next 10 years, adding a little more detail to the already stated aims of shifting activity to the community, to prevention, and to digital services.1 However, the expected “delivery” chapter, on how we actually start doing these things, did not appear.2 This is a shame: it’s difficult to see how the welcome shift away from hospitals will work without new money, as significant investment in the community will be needed before we can begin shutting services in secondary care.
