Mashup Score: 0Boosting with variant-matched or historical mRNA vaccines protects against Omicron infection in mice - 3 year(s) ago
A comparison of the immunogenicity and efficacy of Omicron BA.1-matched and historical mRNA vaccines as boosters shows that while boosting with either vaccine increased neutralizing titers against Omicron BA.1 and BA.2, slightly greater protection against BA.1 challenge was observed in mice boosted with the BA.1-matched vaccine.

Mashup Score: 4Evidence for adaptive evolution in the receptor-binding domain of seasonal coronaviruses OC43 and 229E - 4 year(s) ago
Seasonal coronaviruses (OC43, 229E, NL63 and HKU1) are endemic to the human population, regularly infecting and reinfecting humans while typically causing asymptomatic to mild respiratory infections. It is not known to what extent reinfection by these viruses is due to waning immune memory or antigenic drift of the viruses. Here, we address the influence of antigenic drift on immune…

Mashup Score: 74SARS-CoV-2 variant dynamics across US states show consistent differences in effective reproduction numbers - 4 year(s) ago
Accurately estimating relative transmission rates of SARS-CoV-2 Variant of Concern and Variant of Interest viruses remains a scientific and public health priority. Recent studies have used the sample proportions of different variants from sequence data to describe variant frequency dynamics and relative transmission rates, but frequencies alone cannot capture the rich epidemiological…

Mashup Score: 75Eurosurveillance | Outbreak caused by the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant in Norway, November to December 2021 - 4 year(s) ago
In late November 2021, an outbreak of Omicron SARS-CoV-2 following a Christmas party with 117 attendees was detected in Oslo, Norway. We observed an attack rate of 74% and most cases developed symptoms. As at 13 December, none have been hospitalised. Most participants were 30–50 years old. Ninety-six percent of them were fully vaccinated. These findings corroborate reports that the Omicron…
