Job Description: The Population Studies and Training Center (PSTC) at Brown University is seeking a Lead Data Analyst to work with Professor Emily Oster to prepare comprehensive state assessment datasets in support of the Zelma State Assessment Data Repository as part of zelma.ai. Based out of Brown University, Zelma is the nation’s leading repository of standardized student assessment data for Grades 3-8 from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Launched in December 2023, Zelma consists of publicly-available state assessment data from state education agencies (SEAs), cleaned and organized into a consistent file format, and matched to district and school identifiers used by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). The repository enables researchers to more easily access and use comprehensive longitudinal datasets to explore and better support student educational outcomes.
