Mashup Score: 10Virtual Endoscopic Imaging of the Heart using Photon-Counting Detector Computed Tomography for Electrophysiologists - 4 day(s) ago
Virtual endoscopic imaging of the left atrium (LA) was first proposed over 20 years ago and has since provided important information forin detecting anatomical structures during catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation1-3. Although the LA appendage includes pectinate muscle and a ridge is formed between the left pulmonary vein and the LA appendage, the LA does not have complex muscular bundles. The contrast agent is homogeneously distributed in the LA after passing through the lungs, making a three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction using computed tomography (CT) feasible.

Mashup Score: 43Endocrine health in survivors of adult-onset cancer - 4 day(s) ago
Long-term survivors of cancer (ie, the patient who is considered cured or for whom the disease is under long-term control and unlikely to recur) are at an increased risk of developing endocrine complications such as hypothalamic–pituitary dysfunctions, hypogonadisms, osteoporosis, or metabolic disorders, particularly when intensive tumour-directed therapies are applied. Symptom severity associated with these conditions ranges from mild and subclinical to highly detrimental, affecting individual health and quality of life.

Atrial tachycardia (AT) is commonly observed after orthotopic biatrial heart transplantation (O-BA-HTx). Its clinical presentation, relationship to atrial anastomoses and electrophysiologic characteristics remain controversial. Novel radiofrequency-guided catheter ablation (RFCA) strategies using electroanatomical mapping and myocardial substrate characterization have emerged, but data on their efficacy in this patient group are scarce.
