Fossilized gut contents elucidate the feeding habits of sauropod dinosaurs

Poropat et al. report the first sauropod gut contents found worldwide in a specimen of Diamantinasaurus from the Cretaceous of Australia. These fully support previous hypotheses of sauropod herbivory and bulk feeding. Mixed-level browsing is implied by the presence of conifers (higher-level) and angiosperms (lower-level) within the gut contents.
