Depletion of Carcinoma-Associated Fibroblasts and Fibrosis Induces Immunosuppression and Accelerates Pancreas Cancer with Reduced Survival
In contrast to current thinking, Özdemir et al. show that low myofibroblast proportions in human pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) are associated with reduced patient survival, and ablation of myofibroblasts in the mouse pancreas promotes PDAC aggressiveness but does not improve the therapeutic effect of gemcitabine.
